Student Loan Planner® offers bonus incentives to eligible borrowers who receive private student loans through designated Student Loan Planner® links.

To be eligible for a bonus, borrowers must receive a private student loan through a participating lender using a designated Student Loan Planner® link, and the loan must be credited to Student Loan Planner® by the lender. Lenders do not share identifying borrower information with us, so the bonus is not automatic.

This program applies only to loan applications started on or after June 1, 2026. Applications started before that date are not eligible for a bonus, regardless of when the loan is approved, certified, or disbursed.

Borrowers must notify Student Loan Planner® of an eligible loan by completing the Private Student Loan Bonus Request Form. Student Loan Planner® may request documentation to confirm eligibility and reserves the right to decline a bonus request that cannot be verified with the lender.

Bonus amounts vary and are based on the total amount disbursed for the qualifying loan. If a single loan disburses in more than one installment, such as one disbursement per academic term, those installments are treated as one loan for bonus purposes.

Some bonus offers are paid entirely by Student Loan Planner®. Others include a bonus paid by the lender, or a combination of both. When a bonus is split, each provider pays and manages its own portion of the bonus, and delivery timing or method may differ. Student Loan Planner® is responsible only for the portion of the bonus it provides.

Bonuses paid by Student Loan Planner® are delivered electronically as an e-gift card via Tremendous, after eligibility is confirmed. Once delivered, the recipient may redeem the e-gift card for a deposit to a bank account or PayPal account. Unless otherwise stated, Student Loan Planner® sends its portion of the bonus within 14 business days following the last day of the month in which the loan was confirmed eligible by Student Loan Planner®. Lender-paid bonuses are handled separately and follow the lender’s own process and timing.

If a borrower does not claim the Student Loan Planner® bonus within six months of the first disbursement of the qualifying loan, the borrower forfeits their right to claim said bonus.

If a qualifying loan is cancelled, rescinded, reduced, or returned to the lender by the school after a bonus has been requested, Student Loan Planner® may reduce, delay, or withhold the bonus. Bonuses already paid on loans that are later cancelled or returned may be subject to repayment.

Each qualifying loan is eligible for one Student Loan Planner® bonus. If a loan includes a cosigner, the bonus is issued to the individual who submits the Private Student Loan Bonus Request Form, and Student Loan Planner® is not responsible for how the bonus is divided between the borrower and cosigner. Borrowers are generally eligible for up to two Student Loan Planner® bonuses per calendar year. Bonus offers are subject to change or withdrawal at any time.

Bonus payments may be considered taxable income. Recipients are solely responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes. Student Loan Planner® may request tax information from recipients if required by law and may issue tax reporting documents for bonuses it provides. Participating lenders are independently responsible for any tax reporting related to lender-funded bonus amounts.
